Xtraction
Xtraction is our Sunday morning Bible class for high school students. We meet in the Youth Room (C25) during the second service (10:30-11:40am).
End Time Prophecy
Are we living in the End Times?
2012. It could be a big year according to the movies, the Mayan calendar, the science community, "Christian" prophets and others. And much is happening in our world politically, ecologically, economically, socially that leads many to believe that the "end is near." What does the Bible have to say about such events? About 30% of the Bible is dedicated to prophecy - the inspired declaration of divine will and purpose. Biblical prophecy doesn't just teach us about future events; it also confirms that our God is true and faithful to His word and promises. So as we enter into the year 2012, we want to be armed with God's truth, as well as encouraged - and even excited! - that we could very well be living in the times where our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will return again just as He promised!
What Will We Study in End Time Prophecy?
Throughout the year, we will cover various topics relating to End Time Prophecy:
- The second coming of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ
- Definitions of end-time prophecy terms and when such things are prophesied to occur
- End time prophecy events and timelines as given in the Old Testament and the New Testament, including prophecies made by Jesus Himself and the book of Revelation
- Prophecies that relate to the Church and to the nation of Israel (the Jews)
- Current events around the world - past, present, and potentially future - that indicate the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy
Because what is occurring in our world strongly relates to the fulfillment of biblical prophecy, students are highly encouraged to bring any electronic devices that are/can be connected to wireless internet (iPhones, iTouches, iPads, laptops, etc). We will use these during class to do research throughout the year.
